Everything we predicted has occurred. Even though we have been speaking out for months about how erasing all CDPA FI’s and forcing hundreds of thousands of people to transition to a single company within a 3 month timeline is disastrous — we were entirely ignored.
Unfortunately, we were correct. Beginning April 1st, SO MANY disabled individuals have lost access to their care.
Paperwork wasn’t processed in time, attendants aren’t getting paid, they aren’t coming to work— and disabled people are trapped in bed. They can’t take a shower. They can’t the bathroom. We are witnessing the next public health crisis. Blood is on the state’s hands.
We mourn, we help each other, we organize.
We are compiling a list of ways to advocate. This is a living document that is getting updated as more information comes to us.
